Family Fun Nights Activities

Thursday July 31st is the County Fair. FREE Admission! (some activities require an extra fee)

The County Fair was a time for farm families to display their new farm machinery, enjoy games and other entertainment, and take a much needed break from everyday farming activities. Activities may include: 

Enjoy FREE activities:

  • Picnic
  • Sack Races
  • Lemonade
  • Horse Powered Wheat Threshing demonstration at 7:00 p.m.
  • Vote for your favorite Mahaffie animal-each participant receives one sticker to cast their vote
  • A special 'slice of pie' eating contest takes place at 7:45 p.m. Three age categories will be offered and each age category is limited to the first 12 participants who register at the Heritage Center at 6:00 p.m. The age categories are: ages 4-9, ages 10-15, and ages 16 & up. Winners of all contests receive a family ticket package to Wild West Days-registration closes at 7:30 p.m.
  • Visiting the Mahaffie House
  • Visiting the Agricultural Heritage Livestock Barn

Activities requiring an extra fee*:

  • Stagecoach rides, $2/person ages 3 and up
  • Making an 'S' hook in the blacksmith shop (ages 8 and up) (inside blacksmith shop), $3/'S' hook
  • Make a Ball and Cup toy, $1/ball and cup toy

Please keep in mind with the many activities and animals on the grounds, please leave your pets at home. Service animals are welcome. Thank you.

Activities can be placed under cover if rain begins. For everyone's safety, if lightening is present, the stagecoach will not operate.

The Cowboy Costume Contest takes place at 7:30 p.m. near the back porch of the Mahaffie House. Two age categories are available: ages 3-11 and ages 12 and up.

Park at the Heritage Center, pick up your map and enjoy all the hands on activities!

*Activity Ticket policy: pay with cash at each station. Or purchase activity tickets for $1/activity ticket with a credit card (VISA or MasterCard only) in the Heritage Center. Activity tickets are non refundable, however, they can be used for future Family Fun Night activities or for Children's Activities at Wild West Days.
