Plan Your Visit

Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm invites visitors of all ages to discover a working 19th century farm with oxen, horses, and other livestock-where your family can engage in some of the activities that were a part of daily life for the Mahaffie family and their neighbors. Begin your visit in the Heritage Center to visit exhibits and watch a 10 minute video. Enjoy the short walk to the Mahaffie grounds where you can visit the same limestone farmhouse built in 1865 by James 'Beatty' Mahaffie. 

Activities, Hours, and Admission vary by season:

  • 1860s Living History activities may include stagecoach rides, blacksmith and cookstove demonstrations, and seasonal farming activities
  • When stagecoach rides are available, times are: 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. (Sundays-stagecoach rides begin at 12:30 p.m.)
  • Mahaffie is closed major holidays, except for Independence Day

June and July Thursdays 6 pm to 8 pm Family Fun Nights, FREE admission, (some activities require an extra fee, stagecoach rides are $3/person ages 3 & up) Enjoy a different theme of 1860s history each week.  FREE! (some activities require an extra fee)

Please park in the parking lot of the Heritage Center to begin your visit. After viewing the video and exhibit, take your short walk to the grounds of the Mahaffie Farm. Attend one of our special events.
