farmStudents will experience life on an authentic working farm from the 1860s and 1870s. They will discover the relationships among crops, animals, and farm families that made agriculture the most important business in Kansas in the mid-1800s.

Grades 3–8

Activities

This program is typically divided into four educational activities, with students rotating between stations. Activities can include, but are not limited to:

  • Participating in seasonal farming activities (Planting, Cultivating, Harvesting)
  • Visiting the animals
  • Exploring the barn and viewing 1860s farming equipment
  • Enjoying a stagecoach ride
